Farmwork - Working on a Farm, ABROAD!

For once, live like a real farmer in the wilderness: wearing a cowboy hat and casual check shirt, you ride along with the mountain panorama and seem to forget time and space in front of the lonely natural idyll for a short moment. This romantic idea, as it will surely come to your mind immediately, can become reality within a farm stay. Travel abroad to spend some time on a ranch!

Volunteering on a Ranch

On a farm stay or ranch stay, you travel abroad to spend time in rural areas on a farm, ranch, animal farm, or farm business for a certain period of time and help out. The work is mostly voluntary, but you will be given accommodation on the farm and all meals during the day. You will not only get a place in the family home but also a permanent place in the farm family itself. Just like any other family member, you will be assigned tasks in the family house and on the farm and in a few days, you will turn into a cowgirl or cowboy. Sounds adventurous, it is! A farm job is exhausting and not for the faint of heart, but that's what ranch work is all about.

Wild Nature Experience Far Away from the City Buzz

For outdoor enthusiasts who have always wanted to enjoy life in the country, a farm stay is just the thing. The most popular destinations for a farmstay are in North America, like in the USA or Canada. Especially attractive is the impressive nature in the west of Canada behind the Rocky Mountains. But also Australia, Argentina or in Scandinavian countries there are many family farms in rural idyll which you can support. You will spend a lot of time outdoors and have a lot of opportunities to let the beauty of the country take effect on you. Maybe it is this kind of stay abroad that will help you to leave the stress of everyday life behind and to get new motivation again.

Activities on a Farm

Depending on the type of farm and whether you choose to farm on a ranch in Canada, USA, Australia, or any other country, you can perform various agricultural tasks. This includes small craft farms, vegetable or fruit farms, wineries, or various animal farms. On a horse ranch, you will take care of the horses, but tasks such as stable cleaning or feed preparation are also on the agenda. On other farms, you will, among other things, cultivate fields, harvest, or carry out small repairs. Whatever farm jobs you are assigned, you should be physically fit!
