5 Gründe warum nicht nur Jugendliche Freiwilligenarbeit leisten können
In most cases, people who travel abroad to do volunteer work are high school graduates or students. But that shouldn't scare you off. Even in the adult age, you can do this step and volunteer abroad.
#1: One is never to old to get socially involved.
No matter if it is children in an orphanage in Bali, turtles that need to be rescued in Sri Lanka, or local in the Philippines who need help with renovation work: everyone is looking forward to each single volunteer! Age does not matter at all. People or animals who are hoping for help have no ideal how their helper should look like. They don't care if you are male, female, tall, small, old or young.
#2: You are only as old as you feel.
There is no regulation from when you are "old"! As long as you feel healthy and fit, you should seek the adventure of going abroad to volunteer. You will escape your everyday life while making a valuable experience for life which you will never forget.
#3: The older you are, the more life experience you have.
Being older can also be very beneficial. A teenager can by far not show the life experience that you will have in your mid fifties. Especially in context of volunteering this life experience in very beneficial, as many ideas arise from former experiences you made in your life.
#4: Why should only young people have fun with volunteer projects?
Adults can have just as much fun when dealing with children or animals as young people. Fun does not know any age. Often adults are already a lot more certain about how to deal with small children, since they often have children themselves.
#5: You are able the face greater challenges.
Thanks to the life experience that adults have, they can see certain situations more relaxed than young students or high school graduates. Mostly when being in you mid fifties you have already seen more of the world than any 18-year-old high school graduate, who will see the vast, wide world for the first time.
