Overview Internship Design in Capetown, South Africa

The new and upcoming fashion design company was established in 2009. The founder is a renowned fashion designer that has worked for various South African brands before going on her own. She is creating all kinds of clothes and fashion accessories, e.g. pants, bags, coats, but mostly dresses. The target group for her dresses is the upper middle class. Her dresses are very popular in provinces such as Western Cape and Eastern Cape and even made it to several fashion shows in South Africa and Europe. Due to its popularity in the Eastern Cape, the company is going to expand to this region of South Africa.

The organization is still fairly small and only consists of the fashion designer herself, an employee who is doing the printings and a couple of young interns and some contract workers. The factory contains several sewing machines of different types for various garments.

The designer is proud to say that she managed to create her own recognizable style and not just follow trends of the industry.

Your coordinator in Cape Town

"My name is Jana Williams, I am originally from Germany, but living in South Africa for 8 1/2 years. Nearly 6 years of those I stayed in the mother city of Cape Town. I am now managing all internship and volunteer placements for Studentsgoabroad Cape Town. During my studies of Social Work I did internships abroad myself. I have been to London, India and even in Cape Town which was 12 years ago. While still living in Germany I started placing interns in Southern African countries and always enjoyed this activity. This activity is interesting, exciting, versatile and most of all positive, as a stay abroad always enlarges the personal horizon.
