Environmental protection includes all measures of protecting the environment. This includes the threats caused by the climate change and human influence, as the greenhouse effect, ozone depletion, forest decline and the water pollution.
Unfortunately, the industrial modernization and continuing technical progress created by an
increasing human population catalyze environmental problems, or are sometimes even their main cause. Environmental problems may not be recognizable immediately, but if there isn’t a change of our behavior a catastrophe in the future can’t be stopped.

Environmental problems can be divided into different categories. First, there are local problems, which are concerned with the pollution of the air in urban centers. Second, cross-border issues address the pollution of rivers which run through cities.

Environmental or sustainability internships are mainly address the conservation and preservation of natural resources. Conservation internship projects are a vital issue in less developed countries with manifold bio diversity. Especially an internship in South America, in countries such as Ecuador, Costa Rica, Peru or Chile is interesting for all interns who want to focus on conservation programs. But also parts of Asia offer environmental internship opportunities.
