Overview: Sports coaching program in Singburi. Thailand
This program works closely together with a Thai organization that organizes sports programs and health courses for children in Thailand. Together with this organization, several sports coaching projects have been developed to improve the sporty program offered at local schools. In addition to the one-hour sports session scheduled in the timetable, the children get the opportunity to try more and new sports that they would probably never get to know without this program. During the sports sessions, the children will learn more than just new sport techniques. They will improve their health level, endurance and emotional well-being as well as learn team skills, leadership, decision-making and communication.
What to expect
Description: Sports coaching program in Singburi, Thailand
As participant in this community program you will organize, prepare, coach and supervise various sports sessions. This program can also be completed in form of an internship. As intern following additional tasks occur:
- Manage the social media accounts
- Collecting marketing materials like picture etc.
- Organization of fundraising activities
- Development of sports timetables

Daily schedule
:Monday: On Mondays you will get an introduction to the latest sports programs and timetable as well as redefine them with the other intern and program staff. Tuesday - Friday: On these days you will go directly to the sport places. During the daily school rhythm, you will prepare and perform 1 to 2 training sessions every day. After the end of school (3.30pm) the children have to possibility to participate in several sports programs for 2 hours. Before your project work starts you will have an cultural introduction week to prepare you for the new and foreign culture.

Program flow in Thailand
Program start:
Before the start of your program, you will have an introductory week in Singburi. This introduction weeks always starts on a Monday and ends on a Friday. Your project work will start in the following Monday after the end of the introduction week.
Arrival Date:
We recommend to arrive on a Saturday or Sunday because the airport pickup is only included on the weekends. Arrivals during weekdays have to be organized by oneself or paid extra.
Arrival at the airport:
You will either arrive on the BKK (Suvarnabhumi International Airport) or at the DMK (Don Mueang Airport). In case you arrive at the DMK airport you have to take the free shuttle bus to the BKK airport. From the BKK you will be picked up by the transport coordinator who will bring you to the Singburi bus station. There your local coordinator will pick you up and bring you to your accommodation. In case you are already in Thailand you can meet the transport coordinator at one of the meeting points in Bangkok (only on the weekends).
Departure:
The departure is your own responsibility. The local coordinator will bring you an Saturday morning, after your project finished, to the closest bus station so you can take the bus to the airport or any other destination where you want to continue your travels.

Accommodation during your stay in Singburi, Thailand
You will be accommodated together with all the other volunteers in one of the three volunteer houses in the area of Singburi. The houses are located around 8 to 15 km outside of the city of Singburi. In each room 4 people can be accommodated. Per room, one bathroom is available which will be shared with your roommates. All three volunteer houses offer a common area where you can eat, relax, gather around or use the free WiFi. The houses are not facilitated with laundry facilities. However, there are some cheap local laundry services close by.
Meals
You will be provided with 3 meals a day during weekdays and with 2 meals during the weekend. The food is typical Thai food, which consist of a lot of rice and fruits is mainly vegetarian. The closest ATM and supermarket are a 20 minutes walk away.
