About this position

Overview: Volunteer at giraffes refuge station in Nairobi, Kenya

The giraffe is the tallest animal in the world. Some giraffes species are close to extinction and now in need of help by their greatest enemy, us. In the refuge station which is located south of the capital Nairobi some Rothschild's giraffes are kept species-appropriate and protected. The Giraffe Center is a successful combination of animal welfare and educational institution. This is where visitors can see them in their natural habitat and learn more about their behavior. There is even the possibility to feed them by hand. This will not only serve as a tourist attraction, but to make visitors worldwide aware of why this majestic animal must be protected.
