Overview: Volunteer in a Center for people with disabilities in Singapore

The project takes place in a home for seriously disabled people who have limited or no financial means of support and whose families are unable to provide adequate care. Since 1957, the aim of the organisation is to provide  a "home" for the care, rehabilitation, encouragement, stimulation and happiness of its residence. The care home offers a home for 66 permanent residents and 34 day care clients who are physically disabled of both sexes and any races or creed.

To achieve their optimum level of independence the residents receive rehabilitation programs as well as nursing care, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, training in daily living skills, handicraft, computer practices and recreational activities.
