Overview: volunteer work in a center for continuing education in Buenos Aires, Argentina

The Children who attend the community center have struggles at school and do not receive as much attention as they need to have from their parents or relatives due to illiteracy or full time jobs. The teachers at school cannot provide individual attention due to a high number of students in public schools. Therefore, school homework is not only difficult but also frustrating to the children.

The kids visit the community center in order to receive help with their homework. Also, they find somebody who listens to their problems and supports them in a comfortable study place. With this program we aim at providing help to those children according to their age and specific needs. The center also employs an art teacher who organizes activities that motivates the kids to do their homework but also gives them a new opportunity to express themselves.
