Namibia — Pure Nature
Whether it be the enchanting scenery or the diverse wildlife, Namibia knows how to impress. It is one of the many countries in Africa with a rich wildlife as it is home to hundreds of wild birds, mammals and reptile species. Approximately 15 percent of the area of Namibia are nature reserves.
Everywhere you go, you can admire the diverse nature of the country. Explore the rich wildlife in Etosha National Park in northern Namibia, canoe on the long Fish River Canyon or hike on the fabulous dunes of the Namib Naukluft Park.
Child Care in Windhoek
But even if Namibia is one of Africa's wealthier countries, the economy is marked by low wages and a high unemployment rate. 25 percent of Namibians are affected by the HIV epidemic. Most of Namibia’s youngest generation are left orphaned, fighting the struggle and hardly have opportunities for their future. The focus of the volunteer programs in Namibia, therefore, is on the care and education of children who hold the future of Namibia.
